What people ask before booking hot water cylinders.
How do I know if my cylinder needs replacing?
Hot water running out quickly, taking a long time to heat, discoloured water, or a damp patch under the cylinder. A scaled-up cylinder can sometimes be descaled; a leaking one can’t. We’ll test and tell you which it is.
Vented or unvented cylinder?
Unvented gives mains-pressure hot water, which is a big improvement for showers, but needs an adequate mains supply and annual checks. If your incoming main is weak, a vented cylinder with a pump may be the better option. We’ll measure the flow before recommending either.
Which areas do you cover for hot water cylinders?
Everywhere within roughly 20 miles of Andover: Test Valley and north Hampshire, east Wiltshire including Tidworth, Amesbury and Salisbury, and west Berkshire including Newbury and Hungerford. If you’re just outside that, ask.
