EV Charger Installation
EV charger installation in Andover and across Hampshire.
What’s involved
T2 Electrics & Plumbing install home electric vehicle charge points across Andover, Test Valley and the neighbouring counties. We fit 7 kW wall-mounted chargers from the main manufacturers, tethered or untethered, and connect them to a dedicated circuit from your consumer unit with the protection the regulations require.
Before quoting we check what your existing supply can take: the size of the main fuse, the state of the consumer unit and the earthing arrangement, since many older homes need an earth rod or a board upgrade before a charger can be fitted safely. We tell you exactly what’s needed and price the whole job, not just the charger.
Once fitted, the installation is certified, registered with the distribution network operator where required, and the charger is set up with its app so you can schedule cheap-rate charging from day one.

Common questions
What people ask before booking ev charger installation.
Will I need an earth rod for an EV charger?
It depends on your supply type and the charger. Many homes on a PME supply either need an earth rod or a charger with built-in open-PEN protection. We check this on the survey and tell you which is cheaper before you buy a charger.
How long does an EV charger installation take?
Most installations are done in half a day. If the consumer unit needs upgrading or the cable run is long it can take a full day. If the main fuse needs upgrading, the network operator does that separately and it can take a few weeks to arrange.
Which areas do you cover for ev charger installation?
Everywhere within roughly 20 miles of Andover: Test Valley and north Hampshire, east Wiltshire including Tidworth, Amesbury and Salisbury, and west Berkshire including Newbury and Hungerford. If you’re just outside that, ask.
